The purpose of this paper is to explain how Apple Inc. phones have helped modern society. Apple Inc. is a technology company based in California, they make and sell electronic devices. Some of their electronic devices are the iPhone, iPod, iPad, Mac and Apple Tv. Apple also make accessories that comes with their products, some of the accessories are the ear pods, apple pencil and lighting bolt charger. Apple came out with computers before they came out with phones. During the late 1970’s, Apple Inc. first came out with their first computer “Apple Computer, Inc. designs, manufactures, and markets personal computers, software, networking solutions, and peripherals, including a line of portable digital music players. Apple's product family includes the Macintosh line of desktop and notebook computers, the iPod digital music player, the Mac OS X operating system, the iTunes Music Store, the Xserve G5 server, and Xserve RAID storage products” (Reference for Business, 2016).

They only produced computers until 2001 when they came out with the iPod, the IPod as a music player which allowed you to download music and listen to it. The size was amazing because you could take it with you everywhere you go. In 2007, Apple Inc. joined the cell phone market, they came out with their first phone called the IPhone.

There are so many electronic companies but Apple stands out the most because of the amazing design and powerful creations that they came out every year. Apple have helped modern culture by making texting easy, software keyboard, 24/7 Wi-Fi usage and the most wonderful is the touch screen. I remember the big day in 2007, I was 10 during that time, my aunt when to the apple store and the lines were so crazy because people really wanted to get the phone and try it out. I always went over my aunt’s house just to use her phone and play game on it. Since then everything about technology took a huge step, different ideas kept on coming after that. Most competitors started coming up with similar phones and the cell phone market started booming. Apple is not the only cell phone company out there but now it’s one of the best.

            The first IPhone was released in 2007 by the formal CEO of Apple Inc., Steve Jobs. It had a big impact on smartphones because it added touch screen, built in apps and it acted just a computer. According to IMORE, the original IPhone based on the p2 device of the project Expert. Each product has different colors, models and it performs different tasks. The IPhone has changed the world of technology by its users how advance technology can be, the short cut to many tasks and it has made life little bit more simple.

Potential Benefits

According to AZBS Technology, it tells its readers how Apple products have benefited society. “The benefits of using apple products are; they have established advanced media options come standard” (AZBS,2016). The advance media options on apple products allow you to watch movies, listen to music and take good quality pictures. It also allows you to download, upgrade and install applications(apps) from the Apple store. Most of the apps are free which makes life better and easy. You can video chat with other iPhone users by going on the app called Facetime. There’s a storage called iCloud which allows you to save your pictures and video. You can share it anywhere you want, you upload it on social media, email it to her or message it to your loved ones.

Ethical issues

You can share whatever you want but Apple Inc. are facing a lot of Ethical issues. Some of the ethical issue is jail breaking. Many IPhone users are using an app called Cydia to jail break their phone. “Jailbreaking is a process that changes the operating system running on an iPhone or iPod touch to give the user more control over their device. With it, the user can remove Apple's restrictions and install apps and other content from sources other than the official App Store (the most prevalent of these alternative sources is Cydia)” ( Castello, 2015).

I watched a video on YouTube on how to Jail break your iPhone, it was so complicated because you need to have a “certain number of IOS to download it unless it won’t work” (Cnet, 2010). My brother jail broke his phone last year when he got his IPhone 5s. I asked him why he did it, he told he can change the font on his phone, change the background, listen to music without Wi-Fi and he can download free movie apps that Apple Inc. don’t allow you to upload in the apple store.

Apple keep losing money when people jailbreak their phone but they can do nothing to stop it because it’s the user’s choice. This is one major ethical issue Apple Inc. is facing with IPhones.

Security Issues

In 2014, Apple Inc. faced a lot of security questions because many celebrities’ pictures got leaked and it was all over social media. I was really surprised when I saw it because I have an IPhone and if a celebrity picture can get leaked through their iCloud account what about me. Jennifer Lawrence is one of many celebrities whose pictures were leaked on twitter. She’s an actress and her most famous movies was The Hunger Games. It was explicit she took of herself, she sent it to her boyfriend and a hacker got a hold of it and they shared it on twitter. “Apple has revealed plans to strengthen the security of its iCloud service in response to last week’s leak of celebrity nude photos, although CEO Tim Cook denies the company’s servers were to blame” (Lyengar, 2014).

Since then apple has made a huge security step on iCloud, it’s stronger now and it doesn’t allow anyone to access your information without you authorizing it. The FBI was trying to tell apple to release information from people who have committed mass shootings but apple said it can’t release information on their phones because they didn’t give them authority to do so. This is one major improvement I think apple made because now it shows how they have increase security.

IPhone’s have both negative and positive social problems, some of these problems have a major impact within society today. Looking at the positive side IPhone’s make our life better, it has a good gps which can help us get to our destination on time. You can download applications which can help you with whatever you want.

You can listen to music on Apple music and you can watch your favorite movies on ITunes. Buying an IPhone for your teenage can be a negative concern because they can get addicted to it and loose concentration. Social media plays a big role in social problems because if you get an IPhone you will get talked into downloading some social media apps. People live their life on social media, whatever they see they believe it and they are willing to change just to get notice on there.

Conclusion

IPhone have changed the world in so many different ways, from connecting people together and helping people study. It has changed the world of electronics and technology by making a touch screen phone where you can just touch the screen to access information. Now you can video chat with relatives around the global by just simply clicking on Facetime or downloading a video chat app in the apple store. It’s been almost 13 years and Apple Inc. are still leading the technology world because they always come up with different ideas. All their ideas they come up with benefit modern society because they care about our needs and they make sure their consumers are happy.
